Daniel Brient hails from Ste-Agathe and now lives in Montreal. Inspired by museums, art and drawing, he decided to start in pictorial art. Mostly self-taught, he studied in Los Angeles where he followed several courses in design and painting at the "Ecole des Beaux-Arts Mission Renaissance". There he met his wife, Hélène Béland and together they opened a branch of the School in Montreal and excelled in teaching. Attracted above all by still life and portraits, he works mostly with oil and pastel. He frequents art museums in Canada, America and Europe. His oil paintings are valued and well known. His works are both in group and in various galleries most notably the Michel-Ange Gallery and the Da-Li Gallery.
